Dr. Ava Kate specializes in providing therapy for women. What happens in your therapy session will be shaped by your particular needs - whether its space to explore whatever you are experiencing in the moment, or more structured sessions where a clear plan is in place and you know what is going to happen at every session. A collaborative and strengths-based therapist, Dr. Ava Kate focuses on helping clients explore and clarify their personal goals, recognize their strengths, regain a sense of control, and develop the tools they need to move forward. Her work is infused with energy, compassion, and understanding. She is a strong proponent of the value of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques in helping clients reach their goals and improve their quality of life. Dr. Ava Kate has trained expertise in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma related issues (big T and little t.)

Dr. Ava will provide guidance to consider your thoughts and feelings in ways that foster increased self awareness and insight. An assessment will be completed in the first session or two. Based on this assessment together we collaboratively develop a treatment plan designed to reach your therapy goals. Progress towards your therapy goals is regularly monitored in the context of a warm and trusting therapeutic relationship. Groups

Ava Kate Oleson

Growing in groups is not only powerful, it can also be fun. Group Therapy is a form of psychotherapy where one or more therapists treat a small group of clients together as a group. Group therapy can be extremely rewarding. Being part of a group of people who have similar experiences helps people see that what they are going through is not so uncommon and that they are not alone.

Group members share their strengths and help others in the group, which can boost self esteem, connectivity, shared resources, and confidence.

Dr. Ava Kate currently runs a Wednesday night group for Women struggling with Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma-related Issues.

Pre-Marital Counseling

Given the staggering divorce rates, one of the best things you can do to help save your marriage before it begins is premarital counseling. Couples that are involved in a specific church, temple, or synagogue, are often required to receive counseling before the minister, priest, or rabbi agrees to officiate the ceremony. Those couples that are not may miss out on this procedure simply because it is not required.
